Many people right here in Lorain County go to bed at night without a pillow! Imagine that for yourself or your family. It’s not a pleasant thought, is it?

The average age of a homeless person is only 5 years old. The average cost of a new pillow is only $5.00! Won’t you join us in helping the homeless of Lorain County? All pillow donations will benefit the residents of Haven Center, a 24-hour, year-round homeless shelter in Lorain County.

Between now and Thursday, August 13, 2009, “Gold Country” WOBL 1320AM and “Kool Kat Oldies” WDLW 1380AM invite you to stop by our studios to drop off your donations of brand new pillows (still in packaging, please). We’re located at 45625 U.S. Route 20 East in Oberlin (just ½ mile east of Route 58). All donors will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win some really “kool” radio stuff! Cash donations are more than welcome!

Neighborhood House Association Receives 2009 Best of Lorain Award


U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement


WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 -- Neighborhood House Association has been selected for the 2009 Best of Lorain Award in the Social Service Center category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).


The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.


Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.
